Doctor Biography

Dr. Shaila Begum is an experienced ophthalmologist and academician serving as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Institute of Community Ophthalmology (ICO), Chittagong Eye Infirmary & Training Complex (CEITC), Chattogram. She is actively involved in clinical ophthalmology, cataract surgery, and postgraduate ophthalmic education. She completed her MBBS from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College in 2006 and earned her MS in Ophthalmology from Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) in 2018. With approximately 14 years of professional experience, she has developed expertise in comprehensive eye care, ophthalmic patient management, and cataract surgery. Dr. Begum is committed to advancing ophthalmic education and patient care through teaching, mentorship, and continuous professional development. She regularly participates in national and international scientific programs and is a Life Member of the Ophthalmological Society of Bangladesh (OSB).
